Before we bring anyone onto our team, we have a very stringent 4 interview process to make sure they are the perfect fit and are trained by the Vimtrim standards. All of our trainers have also been screened and have had a criminal background check.

Chris James is our Certified Personal Trainer who provides personal training in Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee, South Phoenix, and South Scottsdale.

Christoper M. James is the founder and owner of VIMTRIM. Chris has over 20 years of Personal Training experience and is well versed in the areas of exercise science, nutrition and supplementation. Through his experience as a personal trainer he has helped many people achieve their health and fitness goals.

His experience in personal training extends to individuals from every walk of life and fitness goals. Chris’ style of training is unique in that he is very articulate and pays close attention to detail. He has a passion for educating the trainee on proper form to prevent injury and to ensure they get the most from their workouts. “Workouts must be customized to the client”

Nutrition and flexibility are also key elements to his training routine. Chris understands the importance of monitoring the level of intensity to guarantee that the program he designs is suitable for each person.

John is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has always lived an active lifestyle participating in organized sports throughout his childhood and competing in football and rugby for The College at Brockport. Through his experiences training with youth programs, division 1 athletics, body builders, and even recovering stroke survivors, John is prepared to work with clients of all ages and skill sets. He understands that each client is distinct and requires a personalized plan to reach his/her goals.
Advancements in technology have caused an evolution of jobs that sit people in front of a desk for eight hours a day. This is problematic and increases the risk for postural issues and muscular imbalances. Imbalances can cause pain and injury, drastically affecting quality of life. John knows how to identify these postural problems and makes it his priority to correct and strengthen all weaknesses. His unique training techniques will leave you feeling stronger, taller, and more confident than ever before.
John is well educated with two Bachelor’s degrees in the field but can always be found expanding his knowledge through recreational research and reading when he’s not in the gym.

Tiffany Nicoll is a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Tiffany fell in love with fitness at a young age. She played softball, volleyball, and ran track for over 8 years. For the past seven years she has coached track and volleyball teams at the high school and junior high levels as well as taught group fitness classes and personal training. When asked about why she became a trainer she says, “I do not have a big weight loss story like many trainers. I simply love fitness, and want to spread that love to others. There is not much that exercise can’t cure or help.”

Tiffany is a mom of one (soon to be two). She relates well with other moms who struggle to find the time and the energy to exercise. She is very knowledgeable in pre and post pregnancy training.

Tiffany’s goal as a personal trainer is to help clients reach their health and fitness goals and to encourage others to live a healthy lifestyle in a fun and fulfilling way. Every client is different, so it is important to develop a personalized plan that will work for each individual. It is her mission to encourage and motivate others in order to reach goals and help people feel and look their best.

Vimtrim offers personal training In-Home, In-Office, and at one of our gym locations. Tyler Humphreys is our Certified Personal Trainer who provides personal training in Chandler, Gilbert and surrounding areas.

Tyler is nationally certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a personal trainer. He has helped lead boot camp classes with instruction and program design. Tyler played baseball for many years and was first introduced to training by seeking a trainer for himself to improve his strength and fitness level.  The motivation of a trainer  created a drive and passion for fitness by pushing the body.  Out of high school Tyler enlisted in the United States Marines Corps to push himself harder.  While in the Marines he deployed twice and helped fellow Marines with their workout regime and goals.

Tyler’s specialties are: weight loss, sports conditioning, muscle gain, elderly training, and rehab training. Tyler has a way with people, he is tough when he needs to be but also listens to his clients! Helping clients to meet their personal goals and improve their lifestyle is his ultimate concern.

Joshua Schwartz

Gilbert / Chandler Personal Trainer

Josh Schwartz comes to us with an incredible passion for marital arts and fitness that is driven by his very rare and severe congenital heart illness. Josh had underwent open heart surgery, but due to a unhealthy lifestyle years after resulted in a second valve replacement. “ I was 280lbs at my heaviest, a size 40 waist and xxxl t-shirt, my quality of life was terrible.” After surgery, Josh realized that he was given a “second chance”.  “I knew if I didn’t change my life and take my health and wellness seriously I would end up in another surgery, or worse – dead.” Josh hired a personal trainer and built the fundamental knowledge of exercise and fitness training through his own weight loss experience. His trainer changed his life. This lead Josh to seek out becoming a certified personal trainer through NASM.

Josh relates to people on a unique and personal level through his experiences. He will show you that fitness and wellness will change you as a person, but most importantly he shows that it’s possible. Josh loves meeting new people, learning their stories and seeing how he can help better their lives. Josh goes above beyond for his clients, he’s constantly researching and staying up to date on the latest data allowing him to be the best trainer he can be.

Josh’s training in the gym inspired him to study boxing which lead him to his love of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He received medals at some of the biggest tournaments in the world! In late 2016 Josh relocated to Phoenix to join the famed Megaton Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Competition Team. “My life long goal is to be a black belt and own my school. Jiu-Jitsu makes me a better person, what you go through on the mats, makes you a champion in life. You learn so much about yourself that I believe it’s a vehicle for human development and I want to show that to people.”

Karen Nank has 19 years of experience as a personal trainer and a group fitness instructor. She is a certified personal trainer thru National Federation of Personal Trainers and  The Functional Movement System.

 She found her passion  as a personal trainer when she had hired a personal trainer to help her transform her body after the birth of her second child. He changed her life and her goal was to change other people’s life’s as well. As a group instructor she has taught classes such Cycling, Body Pump and HIT classes. Karen‘s goal is to to help you find the perfect you thru, training , motivation, nutritional guidance and corrective exercises.  She looks at each client as a individual and develops a plan that works for their needs and lifestyle . Karen has trained clients from the  young to elderly.

Donna Kennis

Donna Kennis has been an ACE certified personal trainer since 2006.  She holds a degree in Exercise Science.  In recent years, as Donna worked to heal herself from “adrenal fatigue” and a stressful marriage separation, she turned to holistic practices. She is now a CHEK certified Holistic Lifestyle and Exercise Coach, and an Assertiveness Coach.  She has studied Tom Myers’ Fascia Stretching, Trigger Point Therapy, and Reiki.  Donna likes to utilize all of these tools in order to help her clients become balanced in their bodies and their lives no matter what their goals.  That could include weight loss, athletic enhancement, balancing strength after an injury or preventing new ones.

Alexandra Espinoza

My name is Alex Espinoza and my passion for fitness all started when I was young. I was a performance contemporary dancer starting at age 6 years old all the way up until my freshman year of college. Not too long after I had decided to walk away from performance dance to focus on my studies did I find myself putting on excess weight. Rather than it being “Freshman 15” for most people, I was hitting more like freshman 40! I wasn’t sure what was causing it and started to become depressed, stressed, lethargic, and negative all the time and just wasn’t myself. When I realized what I was doing in the gym and with my diet wasn’t helping me, that’s when I decided to switch my major in school from being ‘Undecided’ to ‘Exercise and Wellness’. I was eager to learn how I can better help myself not feel or look this way. My passion for fitness soon sparked and I was feeling like myself again. In August 2015 is when I had received my Bachelors in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University. My passion for helping people fuel healthy minds and bodies has only gotten stronger since then and has led me to pursue a career in the Health/Fitness Industry.

Following me getting my degree, I went on to become a Physical Education Coach for children the ages of 16 months to 12 years old. With this opportunity I learned how to educate children in eight different sports, all while giving them the opportunity to provide them with independent success, motor skill development, and social skills early on. After getting the knowledge on how I could help kids, I wanted to reach out to other populations. So, I sought out to be a Physical Therapist Technician. Here is where I practiced therapeutic exercises, pain management, and various modalities that aid in the rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal system. Soon after, I got licensed in Physiotherapy Specialty Training and Chiropractic Assistance, which has broadened my understanding of functional exercise and how to maintain a healthy spine.

I am now utilizing my previous experiences and education to train people of all ages and abilities to improve their overall wellness. I hope to continue to inspire and encourage others to take their life into their own hands in order to live a healthy, long, quality of life. When I am not here training in the gym, I like to hike, practice yoga, and train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Mateo Bustamante

Mateo has always been active even as a child!
Throughout mid and high school he weight lifted, played basketball, baseball,and ran track.
His first job at 14 was at his home town rec center organizing and leading team sports for younger children during our summer youth program.
It wasn’t until adulthood that he started training at a gym and realized how much he loved helping people reach and exceed their fitness goals!
What Mateo loves most about training is seeing others succeed!
The excitement gained from improving their bodies often drives people to be motivated in their careers and personal lives as well!
Along with training he often participates in activities outside the gym such as hiking, biking, and mud races.
He also loves team sports such as baseball, volleyball, basketball and many others.
Mateo usually tells people to “just keep your body moving!

Ben Worley

I am nationally certified through the International Sports Sciences Association as a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist.  I have struggled with weight and self-esteem issues since childhood and after a life changing event at 26 years old, I decided it was time to change. I started my journey at 49% body fat and ending up 14 months later at 11%! I lost 100lbs and since then I have gained 25lbs of lean muscle!  I graduated from the EMT program at Phoenix College and attended the Phoenix Fire Academy knowing I needed a career that kept me active.  While waiting for a position, I started working as a personal trainer and found my passion in helping others achieve similar results.  Five years later and I still love it every day! Not every trainer can understand how you feelor how hard it is to change, but I have been there and know what it takes!  

I provide full service to all my clients and base my success on theirs.  I have experience working with clients ages 10-90 years old with a variety of different goals and needs.  I am hands on in my training and group classes and provide sustainable programs and meal plan recommendations based on an individual’s goals. Whether your fitness goals are to lose body fat, gain lean muscle, or improve your quality of life overall, I utilize several techniques to get you there! We will train in creative ways using workouts involving high intensity interval training, aerobic circuits, calisthenics routines, fitness games and many of my clients enjoy playing Pickleball as a fun form of cardio activitythat burns calories while enhancing hand-eye coordination andboosting cardiac and pulmonary endurance. In training for strengthwe will use a variety of different tools in and out of the gym such as dumbbells, barbells, weight plates, kettlebells, battle ropes, resistance bands, weight sleds, exercise balls, slam balls, suspension trainers and more! 

Along with training, we will discuss nutrition in depth. I will teach you how to be successful nutritionally without being too restrictive. I will clarify food myths and clear up the stigma surrounding meal timing, frequency, and composition. 

The aim of all my training programs is positive measurableprogress towards your goals and to leave you with better understanding of your body and how to sustain optimal health for the rest of your life!

Staci Cox

Ahwatukee Personal Trainer

Growing up as an athlete Staci has always had a passion for health and wellnes. Fueling this passion, she attended Arizona State University to pursue a degree in Exercise and Wellness with a minor in Nutrition and Healthy Living. Looking to gain a new way of understanding the many facets of health post college, she moved to Costa Rica in 2013 for her yoga teacher training. There she gained further knowledge of anatomy and how the mind, body and spirit are interconnected. Through intensive study and asana practice, Staci emerged with a unique perspective on training and what leading an active and healthy lifestyle means.

Upon returning to the states she spent the last four years working in every aspect of the health industry. From running fitness and cardiac tests at a medical practice, teaching at a local community college, to training youth and professional athletes Staci has gained experience providing yoga, nutrition and exercise programs for individuals of all fitness levels. Due her experience in every field of the health and wellness industry she has a unique approach to interacting with clients with the ability to connect with each individual on a personal level. Utilizing her vast knowledge of the human movement system and training techniques allows her to provide a multifaceted approach to training.

Staci truly believes that her purpose in life is to combine her passion, education and the experience she gained over many years in this industry to help as many people as possible to lead a healthy lifestyle.
